Minecraft Official 1.0.0 is out!
What does this mean for Ampersand?
A: This means we will have to redo worlds, fix plugins, and upgrade our code to match the new systems.
Does this mean our stuff will be deleted?
A: Yes, and no. The worlds will be kept in archive files forever. Important worlds like the current main world and Flatlands will be kept online. We will release a new survival world as our main world, and the old 1.8 worlds will only be accesible by a portal. This is to promote unison with a 1.0.0 world.
What will the new world be like?
A: Ampersand is aiming for survival. Flatlands will be our creative hub, and the main world will be most likely retired and saved within our binaries.
Can we download our creations?
A: If you do request to have your creations saved into a schematic file that you can put into your world, we could do that by request. Give us a shout, and advanced notice, and we’ll consider it.
How long is it going to take to upgrade all server components to 1.0.0?
A: It’s going to take up to 5 days. Coding takes a significant amount of time, and is a very tedious task.
How are the databases going to be upgraded?
A: Good question, SQL databases are hard to upgrade, and we’ll work with that as we go.
